Today was Day 1 of Brooke House Summer School 2014. We began the day with a listening, grammar and writing test. This was followed by an induction to the college with the Director, Wylie.
After lunch, we had an orientation of Market Harborough. In small groups, we had a list of clues to follow to navigate our way through the town and a team photograph challenge, where we had to take the best, most interesting team photos around Market Harborough.
In the evening, we took part in 'wacky races'. In teams, we were given building materials like cardboard and different coloured paints. As a group, we had to design and build a car and matching helmet big enough for us to wear. Once we had completed our cars, we then raced them against all the other teams! We had to wear our car and helmets and take part in a team relay race. The winners were group 3 and 7.
