Week 4, day 3

The recent torrential downpours meant there was a slight change to the usual excursions this Wednesday, students that were supposed to be cycling at Rutland Water were treated to a fun afternoon at The National Space Centre in Leicester where they could see and learn about the first rockets into space and enjoy the planetarium!! The Italian group visited The Galleries of Justice in Nottinghamn to gaze upon crime and punishment artefacts and to enjoy the shopping delights of Nottingham!! The remaining students travelled to Stratford where William Shakespeare lived many years of his life.

The Evening was used to play the eagerly anticipated tournament of dodgeball, which was great!! Students not partaking in dodgeball relaxed creating nail art and hair braids or playing on the Playstation 3.

Week 4, day 1

Day 1 for the students who arrived yesterday, began with an english test to determine their ability, orientation around Market Harborough and an afternoon exploring Foxton Locks. The rest of the students were treated to an afternoon at bowling in Leicester!!

The evening was spent playing table tennis, table football, pool and board games or designing and making bracelets. Some students used the computer room for talking with their family and friends.

The poor weather meant that students spent the evening indoors, however this didn´t stop the fun, as an exciting and funny game of Twister entertained both students and staff thoroughly!!

Week 3, day 6

The weekend began today with students being split into two main trips both going to London! Long term students made there way to The National Science Museum, so they could revel in the  plethora of science collections containing the instruments that have made science such a powerful and persuasive element in modem culture.

Newer students were treated with a guided boat tour along the Thames to Westminster Abbey, where they continued on foot past Downing Street and towards Buckingham Palace and onto Piccadilly Circus, enjoying the numerous sights on the way!

Both groups were then allowed shopping time, in Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus respectively.

Students retired back to their accommodation early after an action packed, exhausting day.
