BH Summer School 2014 Week 6

Week 6 day 5

Today, as a treat, we all got to go to Leicester city centre in the afternoon, for some shopping or free time as it is the last day of summer school 2014. We got to look around and buy some souvenirs before we leave. In the evening we had our final farewell party of the summer. We all got our certificates and reports, and awards were given out for activities and special achievements. We then watched the final farewell DVD to celebrate the best memories of the last 6 weeks and finished off by having a big party at the PK with a BBQ.

Tomorrow some students are going to Cambridge for their IELTS test. Good Luck! The rest of us are travelling to Birmingham to visit Cadbury's World. We get to see how all the chocolate is made and how it was invented and even test some of it! We then got some free time to look around and shop for last minute presents.

Brooke House Summer School would like to bid farewell to the BEC group and their brilliant leaders and to all the individuals who are leaving! :(

Summer School 2014 is now finished! We hope you all enjoyed it and we'll see you next year!

Week 6 day 3

Today we were put into 2 groups to go on a trip, The first trip was cycling around Rutland Water, which is the largest man-made lake in Europe. We saw lots of English countryside and we ate some ice-creams!!. The second group went to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, which is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. We saw the historic town and visited the place where Shakespeare grew up. 

In the evening, we had another 'options' night with different activities for us to choose from. Tonight, we had to choice of twister, volleyball, bag painting and loom bands. 

Week 6 day 2

Today, we went to the leisure centre in the afternoon. Today, we had the choice of playing tennis, badminton, football or basketball. 

In the evening, we had 'Team Challenges'. The challenges tonight were:

Gladiator duel - where we had to use giant soft poles to try and knock each other off a podium.

Surf board balance - where we had to stand on a surf board, and stay on while it moved around!

Sumo wrestling - where we got to wear giant sumo suits and wrestle each other out of a ring.

Giant buzzer - to test our nerve and steady hands.

Blindfold pictures - where we had to draw various pictures without being able to see what we were doing

Beat the goalie - a penalty shoot out competition!

ONE OF THE FUNNIEST EVENINGS AT BROOKE HOUSE SUMMER SCHOOL!!!
